Reminiscing

Mario Cruz gave me an idea after reading his latest blog entry.I looked at some of my older blogs from 2006 and found some pictures from 2005.That was the year that I started to come out of my shell.There are a lot of great memories to choose from.The first picture was taken at the Castro Gulch with Mario Cruz and Manuel Torres.Raging Stallion hosted a VIP party for their blockbuster hit "Passport To Paradise" and a signing at the Castro Gulch the next day.Me and Steven had so much fun.The next picture was at my first COLT party.I was looking forward to meeting Carlo Masi and Chris Wide.Then these two muscle hunks in tanktops come out of nowhere and left a lasting impression on me.Of course I'm talking about Gage Weston and Luke Garrett.They were newbies at the time,hadn't even seen their first movie yet.I took pics with each guy seperately.My jaw almost dropped to the ground when at the COLT party in walks Filippo Romano(third pic)I had been a major fan and to see him in person was awesome.The fourth pic brings a tear to my eye.That was the first time I met Hothouse Man Kent North.He was so nice to me.Kent didn't mind me taking another pic with him.I think his partner Lloyd took the pic.Miss you Kent.

The Best of 2007 In Music

I did my share of clubbing in San Francisco this year,Santa Cruz had become quite boring.Here is my top ten favorite songs of the year and I didn't have to go to Medium Rare Music to find them.
1.Gimme More-Britney Spears
Sure Britney was a trainwreck for most of 2007 but you couldn't ignore her comeback single.Most remixed song too.My favorites were a tie between Peter Rauhofer and DJ Paulo.
2.Don't Stop The Music-Rihanna
The Jody Den Broeder vocal mix is nothing short of amazing.It got me and my friend Michael on the dance floor with its "Wanna Be Startin Something" sample vocal.
3.Kingdom(Ralphi Rosario Alternative Vocal Mix)-Dave Gahan
I know its the lead singer from Depeche Mode.Ralphi Rosario is a legend,just listen to this remix and you will understand why.
4.Disrespectful(Paulo & Dutkevitch Creative Mix)-Chaka Khan with Mary J Blige
Two divas.What do you get? One powerful anthem.The vocals blend in perfectly.
5.Here Comes The Rain Again(Freemasons Vocal Mix)-Eurythmics
I heard this when I first met Wayne G.This was an unreleased bootleg remix and it rocked!
6.Ain't Nothing Goin On But The Rent(any remixes)-7th Heaven featuring Katherine Ellis
Take a Gwen Guthrie classic and what do you get? A club anthem you can relate to.
7.Free My Love(Offer Nissim remix)-Suzanne Palmer
I love this song even though Offer Nissim's remix is nothing more than a dub with Suzanne's vocals.Still it packs a punch.
8.Rehab-Amy Winehouse
This was the song that seemed to be the theme among celebrities in 2007.It had a 60s vibe to it which made it unique.Unfortunately Amy became the British Britney.Hopefully things will turn around for her in 2008.
9.One Night Only(Eric Kupper & Offer Nissim remixes)-Deena Jones & The Dreams
This was my theme song of the year.I would hook up with someone on the dance floor and it became one night only.
10.I'm Not Featuring You(Jamie J Sanchez Tribal Mix)-Taylor Dayne
It was a tough call to make on this one.Manny Lehman's remix was excellent but Jamie's had an edge to it.

Worst of 2007

Along with the good there is always the bad highlights.Here are an example of what made it on the list.The GAYVNS were fun and all except that we(as in me,Steven and Michael)were denied entry to the VIP Pre Party reception and the NakedSword afterparty.Steven even had proof in his e-mail that with purchase of the $200 VIP ticket he could attend the reception.NakedSword claims no such thing.Ummm...yeah right.It was bad enough that I wasn't invited to the COLT 40th party,all is forgiven because two COLT Men at least made an effort to get me a ticket which was never mailed by the promoter but we could have gotten into the NakedSword afterparty if a certain ex-employee of that company would have made an effort to.I saw pictures on the website with people who don't even work for the porn industry.The sad demise of Kent North was probably the worst thing that happened this year,followed by Danny Roddick.Although I didn't know Danny I did know Kent whose presence was sorely missed at Folsom St Fair.Rest in peace guys.

I made several new friends but I also attracted the "fake" ones.You know the type,they seem nice in the beginning.Later they turn out to be either a crystal meth addict,an aggressive phone sex freak or already in a relationship looking for a third wheel.Enough of these people already!

In closing I want to mention my Grandpa who passed away a few weeks ago.I love you.

Best of 2007

Its that time of the month to remember 2007.I'm still unemployed which sucks.I found time to have fun though.Here are some of my favorite highlights.My best friend Steven(who is posing with a lion in the first photo)came down for the GAYVNS in February and to hang out with me in November.I reconnected with my cousin Juanita on MySpace.We spent a memorable weekend in San Francisco with her best friend Jessica and my friend Michael from Stockton(second pic)who was there during my Bay Area moments which I have to admit was a blast.That is where I reunited with my childhood friend Liz Garcia(third photo with a bouncer who wanted to take a pic with her!)This year wouldnt be complete without Mario Cruz(fourth pic)who attended the GAYVNS and Folsom St Fair.Good times!

Merry Christmas

This has been a difficult time to celebrate Christmas.My Grandpa passed away on the 18th and I have to deal with the funeral which is this coming Thursday.Lots of emotions right now.I do wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

DJ Spotlight: Jamie J Sanchez

This year I met a lot of talented DJ/remixers but my favorite is none other than Jamie J Sanchez.The guy knows how to work a crowd.I had no idea that Jamie was behind the Sandy B remix of "Make The World Go Round" that I kept hearing at all of the clubs in San Francisco.That is the anthem to play during peak hours.Jamie also did a tribal mix of Taylor Dayne's "I'm Not Featuring You" which I heard at San Francisco Pride back in June.I had seen Jamie DJ live many times in 2007.He provided the music for Memorial Day,Pride weekend and my reunion with Liz in October.Jamie is the best!

Porn Star Spotlight:Colby Taylor

Today's post is all about Colby Taylor.I had seen many of his movies which are considered classics.My personal favorite is "The Crush" in which Colby tops Travis Wade.Most recently Colby did a sequel to that movie called "Endless Crush".I got to meet Colby in 2006 and I have to tell you he is still boyish and handsome.I ran into him at Dore Alley,Moby Dick in November and last Sunday at Matinee(see the previous post) Colby is a total sweetheart and this month's Porn Star Spotlight.

He was incredible.Jamie J Sanchez(second picture) was the opening DJ.Jamie is a favorite of mine,he knows what to play live.I did see Chuck aka Colby Taylor(third picture)wearing the same shirt that he wore when we first met back in 2006.Love me some Chuck.Falcon exclusive Tristan Jaxx was there too along with my club regulars Joanne and Suzan.You can't start the dance without those two.I had a blast!
