The tradition continues with President's Day weekend now officially SF Bear weekend for those who miss IBR like me.Since I'm only going to be in San Francisco for Sunday evening there are 2 important club events to attend.Honorable mention goes to Fresh which is ending after 10 years.Too painful for me to go at this time.First up is PLAY T-Dance with DJ Steve Sherwood and later Gus Presents Sanctuary with DJs Ted Eiel and Theresa.Of course I'll bring the new camera and try again.

I'm more interested in the Super Bowl halftime show then the game itself.Madonna returns to the stage to perform her new single "Give Me All Your Luvin" (which was leaked late last year) and other songs that are being kept under wraps.One song we won't hear is "Girls Gone Wild" because Joe Francis has sent a cease and desist letter threatening legal action if she even performs it.Doesn't this remind you of when Spike Lee sued Spike TV for copyright infringment?
Knowing Madonna she probably has some good high powered lawyers to back her up.Joe Francis is looking like an idiot trying to capitalize on her name.I'll give this one to Madonna.
Another guilty pleasure from last year,The Voice returns right after the Super Bowl.All of the celebrity judges are back and the format has not changed.The Voice had less hype and more talented singers than X-Factor and American Idol put together.After the success of Moves Like Jagger the Voice has a lot of expectations in Season 2.Can't wait to see the show.

Spartacus:Vengeance

The brand new season of Spartacus:Vengeance debuted last night on Starz.Liam McIntyre did an excellent job bringing Spartacus to life.The series picks up where Blood and Sand left off.Although Batiatus is gone (he is sorely missed) Gaius Claudius Glaber picks up the mantle as the new villain determined to crush Spartacus and the freed slaves.Glaber's bitch of a wife Ilithyia is back...with child (I suspect Spartacus impregnated her during their masked romp in Blood and Sand) Also returning is Lucy Lawless as Lucretia who barely survived the massacre.The gladiators from Season 1 and prequel,Crixus (Manu Bennett) and Gannicus (Dustin Clare) return as well.The first episode did not disappoint,the sex and gory are still intact.I won't reveal too much for those who have not watched.Looking forward to the new season and how it plays out.

Ever since my Uncle got AT&T U-Verse I have been catching up with shows like Unsung and channels that Charter Cable doesn't carry like Chiller.The only downside is there are no San Francisco based channels or even the CW.Hey at least I can watch Chelsea Lately and The Real Housewives 3 hours early on HD channels which is what my uncle wanted in the first place.
The photo of Allen Silver and me was taken by Michael Smith at Bliss last Sunday.It makes me want to upgrade to a DSLR camera for Dore Alley and Folsom Street Fair.Photography has been a passion of mine for many years and I'm hoping to take it to the next level by taking professional photos of several hot men that I know like Greg Brinson (look him up on the blog and you'll see what I mean) and of course the street fairs/parties.

Let's start with the most overexposed celebrity of the year.No I'm not talking about Kim Kardashian,she is on this list though.I'm referring to Justin Bieber who continued to invade the entertainment news outlets with medicore Christmas music and a wack job who claimed that Bieber got her pregnant (giggles) Yeah right and Kim Kardashian married for true love.Her wedding was overhyped on E!,then 72 days later it was over.A backlash was imminent.There was even a petition to get the Kardashians off our airwaves but guess what? People are still watching the shows.The Real Housewives took an ugly turn with the dismissal of half the New York cast,turning Teresa Guidice into another Danielle Staub,the suicide of Taylor Armstrong's husband Russell and Nene's oversized ego.If this is what reality has to offer count me out.Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann,2 Republican candidiates whose homophobic views were on full display.They need to stop living in the stone age and wake up.Gays rule! Kathy Griffin's new Bravo special Tired Hooker was well tired.Rehashing Kardashian and pussy jokes is not exactly funny.ABC cancelling All My Children and One Life To Live to make room for programs currently seen on basic cable.The 2 shows were supposed to be revived online then on Thanksgiving that plan was pulled which meant it really was the end.

What do the end of Don't Ask Don't Tell,the new ABC show Revenge and Britney's "Criminal" have in common? They were the best highlights of 2011.We still have a long way to go where gay marriage is concerned.Now gay men and women can serve openly in the military without any issues.I was still miffed at ABC for cancelling V who redeemed themselves with the guilty pleasures Revenge and Once Upon A Time.Along with Ringer I was now able to invest in three new shows that weren't reality based.I didn't give up on reality shows entirely.Storage Wars,Hoarders,1000 Ways To Die,Real Housewives just to name a few I still watched.Britney Spears released Femme Fatale earlier this year.Each track was a hit but only one resonated with me,Criminal.We Found Love by Rihanna was one of those infectious dance songs and her best.Kelly Clarkson's Stronger is one of my favorite albums of the year.Dore Alley and Folsom Street Fair continued to be fun excursions for me.I spent most of the time on Facebook and Twitter when I didn't go to San Francisco (more on that later) I'm especially thankful for my family and friends who rallied around me during difficult times.Lets pray for a healthy 2012 for my dad.

Folsom Street Fair has always been held the last weekend of September.For 2012 it has been pushed back a weekend earlier...on the 23rd.Blame Larry Ellison and his company Oracle for the new date.They are probably the most powerful company in the world.What Larry wants,a big Oracle convention at the end of September,apparently he gets.After the way the weather was this year I am happy with the change.Some people won't be thrilled with the new shift.Hey at least Folsom Street Fair wasn't cancelled right?

As Christmas approaches this coming weekend thought I'd share some thoughts about what the holiday means to me.I still have memories of spending Christmas with my late grandparents in Watsonville,eating tamales and those next door neighbor's homemade cookies.Since moving to Hollister my opinion has shifted.I really don't care about Christmas like I used to.My family has splintered.I have no contact with my mom's side of the family.Dad has been a number one priority since he had the major surgery in October.My family (like cousin Juanita) and friends are what matters to me these days.I have a lot of responsibilities thrust upon me recently.I'm determined to carry on the traditions I'm known for in 2012,like Folsom Street Fair and meeting hot guys.Happy Holidays to all.

My other guilty pleasure is the CW's Ringer starring Buffy The Vampire Slayer's Sarah Michelle Gellar as twins Bridget Kelly and Siobhan Martin.Both have deep secrets.Bridget is a former stripper and recovering addict running from the mob after witnessing a murder.Siobhan is having an affair with her best friend's husband.The twins meet up after years of estrangment,then Siobhan mysteriously disappears overboard during a boat trip with Bridget.Bridget assumes her sister's identity to hide from the mob but soon discovers that Siobhan's wealthy lifestyle has its own secrets especially after she is attacked in her sister's future apartment.How long Bridget has to keep up this charade will be interesting since the show has been picked up for a full season.The fact that Siobhan is alive and plotting against her own sister makes Ringer a guilty pleasure to watch every Tuesday.

I was hesitant to watch another ABC show after the cancellation of V but Revenge grabbed my attention...for all the right reasons.The premise is simple,a young woman named Emily Thorne (real name Amanda Clarke) infiltrates the Hamptons high society to seek revenge on those who set up her father on trumped up terrorist charges which led to his conviction and death in prison.Amanda's childhood was mostly spent in juvenile hell.Her main target is the wealthy Graysons in particular Victoria played by 80s heroine Madeleine Stowe.Its awesome to see Madeleine playing an evil bitch with vulnerability.The actress Emily VanCamp shows her sensitive side while slithering through her goal to teach these wealthy people a painful lesson.Every episode started with someone getting their comeuppance for being involved in destroying Amanda's dad.Lately the show has taken a different turn involving Victoria's loyal security guard Frank and former best friend (who slept with her husband Conrad) Lydia.They are both on to Emily/Amanda.Revenge wouldn't be complete with a love triangle between Emily/Amanda,Victoria's son Daniel and Jack Porter,a working class guy who shares a childhood past with Amanda.Lets not also forget Nolan Ross (genius software inventor),Amanda's ally who owns a debt to her dad for believing in him when others didn't.This is one of the best new shows of the season,(the other being Ringer) and a brand new guilty pleasure.

UK DJ/Producer Wayne G headlines this weekend's Tonker event.For those who don't know about Tonker it is a popular club event based in the UK.I did not get a chance to attend the first one and probably won't be able to go to this one.I'm limiting my San Francisco trips to just Pride,Dore Alley and Folsom Street Fair from now on.I still plan to promote club events like this on the blog though.

I started my way from the very end to the beginning.When I got to Folsom Street Fair early in the morning it drizzled followed by rain and then cleared the rest of the afternoon.I spent most of that time at the Falcon/Raging Stallion booth thanks to Kent Taylor.I also met Tucker Scott who works for Next Door Studios.Lovely guy! The clouds were looming over this year's Folsom Street Fair.A chance of showers was in the forecast.I wondered how this would work.I didn't have to worry much,the rain came and went leaving the rest of the day to enjoy Folsom Street Fair.I hit up all of the porn booths,ran into new/old friends and took lots of photos,some that will be posted over the next few days. Real Bad XXIII was a fucking blast this year.I had met Bryan Reyes earlier on Saturday just as I was leaving the Big Muscle Folsom party.He did not disappoint me with his mixset on Sunday.I knew he would have a few tricks up his sleeve.This was the only time I was able to meet Bruno Knight and Ben Brown,a British bear couple I knew from Facebook.I got to hang out with Greg one last time.His Real Bad outfit was perfect in all the right places.I have to thank Suzan Revah for everything.If it wasn't for her I would not be able to attend this official Folsom closing party.

The Falcon/RSS Party was held at Mezzanine this year.I have always loved this place ever since I attended the Passport To Paradise afterparty back in 2005.Everybody from the industry was there early to press the flesh before heading out to other Folsom related parties.I stayed for Twisted until Ricky Sinz finished his mixset.Unfortunately the crowd from earlier had gone replaced by a half empty venue.Luckily I was able to take photos when I got there after 8pm. The reason why I was looking forward to this particular party there was someone I had wanted to meet ever since we started communicating on Twitter.More on that on the next blog entry complete with pics.

Folsom Street Fair weekend kicked off with the grand opening of a new cruising spot called Playspace.As you can tell from the photos all of the porn stars on the ad showed up to press flesh with the public.I got to meet a couple of Twitter friends,Richard and JP Richards.After a malfunction with the camera settings I was able to capture those special moments.I am digging Roman Heart and Jesse Santana's new "rough around the edges "look.Andrew Jakk and Donny Wright were adorably hot guys to meet.Jessie Colter was a delight.I can see why there is buzz about him at the moment.He is sex on a stick.It was a pleasure to see sexy men Casey Williams and Spencer Reed again.Talk about YUM.The COLT Men did not disappoint.Nate Karlton and Bob Hager were great to meet in person.There is something about a man in a jock strap that is a turn on.Overall the party was a great way to start the weekend.

Just found out about these 2 parties for Saturday night.The Falcon/Raging Stallion VIP party ends at 10pm and Twisted begins afterwards.I'm hoping this won't be a fiasco like 2 years ago when Raging Stallion hosted the VIP party at Industry.For something completely different I would recommend Blowoff.Rock and electronic musicians Richard Morel and Bob Mould host and DJ this popular event.Their signature mix of indie rock,electro and house attracts a large crowd that you have to experience it in person.Me and Steven Weygint did during IBR weekend a few years ago.So there you have it for Folsom weekend.See you all when I get back.

As promised here are several Folsom parties that are going on over the weekend.On Friday night celebrate the grand opening of Playspace at 960 Folsom St with Chi Chi Larue,Sister Roma and the porn stars of COLT,Falcon Studios and Raging Stallion.Its the ideal hookup place especially during this time.You can head over to The Edge for a party with the Men of Bad Ass.Gus Presents Ringmaster at 1015 Folsom with DJs Manny Lehman and Porn Star.Saturday night Industry has DJ/Producer Pagano and local favorite Jamie J Sanchez.So there is something for everyone.For me that would be the Big Muscle Folsom party in the afternoon with music provided by DJ John LePage and of course Falcon/Raging Stallion party in the evening.

Real Bad XXIII is the official closing party for Folsom Street Fair and probably the most sought after ticket each year.I got mine at the beginning of the month thanks to Real Bad hostess Suzan Revah.Tickets are available through a Real Bad host first then this Friday a limited number are distributed through various outlets.All proceeds go to LGBT charities.This year's DJ is Bryan Reyes.His remixes are incredible.They cover a range of house music elements such as oldschool,big room and circuit/tribal.Bryan will definitely energize the dance floor at 1015 Folsom.He is one DJ I'm looking forward to finally meeting.

Yesterday I had gotten a tweet from fellow Spartacus fan Tamara Hampton that Andy Whitfield had passed away at the age 39 from non-Hodgekin's Lymphoma.Andy was a virtual unknown when he was cast in the lead in the Starz network's hit series Spartacus.It was a guilty pleasure of mine.The show was about to start shooting the second season when Andy was diagnosed with non-Hodgekin's Lymphoma.He got treatment while Starz filmed a Spartacus prequel.Unfortunately Andy had to resume treatment again when the cancer returned and the role was recast with newcomer Liam McIntyre.Andy was a champion offscreen as well.RIP Spartacus.

Folsom Street Fair that is! I have been told that I'm a DJ groupie and you know what? DAYUM right! Going to Sanctuary was a last minute decision on my part.It was worth it just to hang out with DJs Blaine Soileau who opened with a mixset of songs I have never heard before and Ted Eiel who brought his brand of chunkhouse to the masses.I spent a lot of time on the dance floor which is why I only took 5 photos.I noticed there was an absence of familiar friends this weekend.Probably were out of town from what I heard.This trip was a blast and looking forward to Folsom Street Fair on the 25th.

Last night's VMAs was a major disappointment.Amid all the hype on what Lady Gaga would wear and the Britney Spears tribute there was one person who overshadowed them with a dignified performance that was simple.I'm talking about Adele of course.She didn't need dancers or pyrotechnics to get her point across.The show seemed awkward at times.Kevin Hart wasn't funny(The only time was when a model's hair caught on fire at a P Diddy party while Kevin was filmed.He ran like his life depended on it) Lady Gaga donned male drag appearing as alter ego Jo Calderone(Was she channeling Bob Dylan or Jo from The Facts of Life?) and stayed in character.The facial expressions on the audience members during Gaga's opening act was priceless...for all the wrong reasons.The Britney tribute consisted of dancers dressed like her at certain periods of her career.Of course there was that awkward kiss between Gaga and Britney that never happened.Beyonce announced her pregnancy by rubbing her belly after her VMAs performance.Now why was Kanye West excited? He's not the father Jay Z is! The Amy Winehouse tribute was moving.Tony Bennett showed footage of him and Amy in the studio doing a duet for his upcoming album.Bruno Mars did a amazing rendition of Valerie(he should have won for Best MALE instead of Justin Bieber who looked ridiculous in red pants and leopard shoes with a snake accessory)Somebody tell him to stop dressing like Rosie O Donnell.The closing act by Lil Wayne was a bleep fest.I turned the TV off by then.Next year you tube should sponsor the show since MTV doesn't even play music videos anymore. The channel is overrun by guidos and teen moms.

Take The Money And Run Starring Beau Nolen

I am still angry at ABC for cancelling V,the best science fiction show on their network and showing crap like Bachelor Pad.I had to make an exception for an online buddy named Beau Nolen.He had been MIA for a few months and now I know why.Beau and his domestic partner Ron were shooting an episode of Take The Money And Run.The question was when would it air? I watched the first episode the beginning of this month to understand the concept.Contestants trying to hide a suitcase filled with $100,000 from detectives and investigators for 48 hours.If the detectives can locate the suitcase within those hours they are awarded the $100,000.If not the contestants (who are in custody and interrogated by the detectives during this time) win the prize.Watching Beau's episode I learned a few things about him.Beau has an operatic voice,a sly sense of humor and vulnerability thanks to his sad puppy dog eyes.I won't reveal what the outcome was in the episode.In my opinion a star is born and his name is Beau Nolen.

When Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Russell Armstrong took his life a few days ago people were ready to blame the show for pushing him over the edge.Even Showbiz Tonight had asked do reality shows destroy people? I don't think so.Reality shows make stars out of unlikable people like Kate Gosselin whose own show was finally cancelled along with LA Ink.For one thing if your a troubled person signing up for a reality series is not a good idea.Cameras follow you 24/7 and don't forgot those moments are edited down for a full episode.You can tell Russell and Taylor Armstrong had a not so loving marriage.Compared to the other couples on the show except for Camille's Russell was uncomfortable in the spotlight,Taylor wasn't.That is the difference.Who thinks for one minute Abercrombie & Fitch doesn't want to be associated with Jersey Shore yet they profited off the slogans from the show? Very hypocritical I might add.Its sad when a person takes their own life.I have done 2 blog entry tributes to a couple of friends so I can kind of understand why people want to place the blame on something.My heart goes out to the three children Russell left behind.That's where the focus should be!

Hey everyone I had so much fun at Bay of Pigs and PLAY T-Dance that I took fewer photos this time around.Not to worry I made up for it at the Dore Alley fair.Bay of Pigs was held at a better venue 525 Howard St.A big improvement over 2 years ago.This was where the GAYVNs afterparty was held last September.The VIP room was converted into a sexually charged area.Some open rooms by the DJ booth had some action going on.I was there for the music and both DJs did not disappoint.Frank Wild started off with a darker mixset of dirty beats followed by Paul Goodyear's which was a bootleg mixture of classics.I could say the same about Susan Morabito's.Her set at PLAY was awesome.She had the dance floor crowded through most of the evening with familiar songs remixed.It was a surprise to hear them.I ended the night at THICK where DJ John LePage played some great dance music to close out Up Your Alley weekend.

While on wikipedia org I came across a page about Shalamar and found out there was a segment about them on a TV One series called Unsung.Since my cable provider doesn't carry TV One I found the program on you tube Friday night.You could say I was instantly hooked immediately.The hour long music documentary is like VH1's Behind The Music only the show focuses on R&B acts and singers that I grew up listening to,even the ones who had minor hits yet made an impact on people's lives.Besides Shalamar I watched Unsung episodes of Heatwave,Debarge,Zapp,Alexander O Neal and Cherrelle,Klymaxx,Sylvester,Teena Marie,The O'Jays,Tammi Terrell and Florence Ballard just to name a few that can be found on you tube.I had wondered why Shalamar's most famous member Jody Watley refused to reunite with the band after all this time.Once you watch the Shalamar episode you can pretty much understand why.There are still some that I have yet to see like Stacy Lattisaw and Rose Royce so hopefully those will be uploaded soon.

The GayVNs On Showtime

Finally! Last year's GayVNs is airing at midnight on Showtime.I did not attend the awards show but opted for the afterparty instead.Big mistake on my part.At least I was able to get in there thanks to Rafael Alencar and Vin Nolan.That is where I took a photo with Landon Conrad whom you might all recognize from Falcon Studios.The GayVNs which was hosted by Alec Mapa is an hour long.By contrast the AVNs that aired on the same network was 2 hours long.Oh well you can't have your cake and eat it too.All I remember from the GayVNs was hanging outside of the Castro Theatre hoping to catch a glimpse of the porn stars who were in town for Folsom Street Fair weekend.Whoever thought of moving the GayVNs to September should be shot.Bad idea.I bet it will happen again this year too...UGH
